HYPERMOTARD 1100 & 796 LED DRL CONVERSION KIT
A custom LED DRL conversion kit for the Ducati Hypermotard 1100 and 796, designed to transform the original handguards with bright white daytime running lights while retaining the factory turn signal functionality.
The kit replaces the original turn signal internals with custom-designed circuit boards that integrate directly into the original Ducati handguards.
During normal riding the LEDs operate as bright white DRLs. Activate the indicator and the white DRL automatically switches off while the LEDs flash amber. Once the indicator is cancelled, the white DRL returns automatically.

OEM-STYLE DRL + TURN SIGNAL INTEGRATION
The original handguards are one of the most recognisable design features of the first-generation Ducati Hypermotard. Rather than replacing them with aftermarket units, I wanted to modernise the lighting while retaining the original Ducati design.
The Futuri LED DRL Conversion Kit replaces the original turn signal internals with custom-designed circuit boards that fit inside the factory handguards.
During normal riding, the bright white LEDs function as daytime running lights. Activate a turn signal and the white DRL on that side automatically switches off while the LEDs perform the original indicator function. Once the turn signal is cancelled, the white daytime running light automatically returns.
The complete system was developed from scratch specifically for the Ducati Hypermotard 1100 and 796, from the first prototypes through circuit-board design, testing and refinement.
DESIGNED AROUND THE ORIGINAL DUCATI HANDGUARDS
No aftermarket handguards are required. The conversion uses your motorcycle’s existing OEM Ducati handguards and indicator housings, retaining the original shape and fitment while completely changing the appearance of the lighting.
The result is intentionally subtle when the motorcycle is switched off, with the conversion integrated inside the original housings rather than added externally.
Please note: the original handguards themselves are not included with the kit. The kit is designed to convert handguards already fitted to the motorcycle.
DIY INSTALLATION
This is a DIY conversion kit and requires some hands-on installation.
The original indicator housings must be carefully opened, the factory internals removed and replaced with the Futuri circuit boards. After installation, the housings are resealed.
Additional wiring is required to supply the white daytime running lights with a switched 12 V power source and ground. The original indicator wiring continues to control the turn signal function.
On the original Futuri installation, the additional wires were routed through the existing openings in the handguards and along the motorcycle towards the ECU/fuse-box area.

This is a specialist DIY conversion and requires basic electrical work, additional wiring and opening and resealing the original indicator housings.
