Designed for custom fuel tanks

Integrate a compatible Ducati fuel-pump assembly into a purpose-built metal fuel tank.

The flange is welded into the tank, providing a mounting interface for the removable pump assembly. Its pre-tapped holes allow the compatible pump assembly to be secured using suitable mounting bolts.

It is intended for custom motorcycle builds, tank fabrication and restoration projects where the original pump mounting arrangement cannot be reused.

Developed by Futuri Motion Tech and used on both FTR.VECTOR and DESMOTO, this design has also been supplied to motorcycle builders and restorers around the world.

Fuel-pump compatibility

Designed around the compact oval mounting flange used by Ducati 848, 1098 and 1198 fuel-pump assemblies.

This mounting-interface family is also used on selected models within the following ranges:

Ducati model rangeRelevant models
Superbike848 / 848 EVO, 1098 and 1198 variants
Hypermotard796, 1100, 1100 S, 1100 EVO and EVO SP
Streetfighter848, 1098 and 1098 S
Monster696, 796 and 1100 variants; selected S4R/S4RS models
SportClassicGT1000, Sport 1000, Sport 1000 S and Paul Smart 1000 LE

Compatibility concerns the pump’s mounting interface. Complete pump assemblies, internal layouts and clearance requirements can vary between models.

Check the oval mounting flange, bolt pattern and sealing arrangement before ordering. This flange requires welding into a suitable metal tank and is not a direct replacement for the original tank.

If you are unsure, contact Futuri Motion Tech with the motorcycle model, year and clear photos of the pump’s mounting flange.

Choose the material for your tank

MaterialIntended tank construction
Aluminium 6082Suitable aluminium fuel tanks
SteelSuitable steel fuel tanks
Stainless steel 304Suitable stainless steel fuel tanks

Select a material compatible with your tank and welding process. Your fabricator should confirm material suitability before installation.

The flange is supplied with a machined finish.

Dimensions and installation

Overall dimensions: 137.5 × 87.5 × 12.5 mm
Designed tank wall thickness: 1.5–2.5 mm
Mounting holes: Pre-tapped

Allow sufficient internal clearance for the complete fuel-pump assembly, including its filter and associated components. Check external clearance for fuel connections, wiring and access for future removal.

Source the correct fuel-compatible gasket/O-ring and suitable mounting bolts separately. Check bolt length and thread engagement before assembly.

Welding and heat control

Tank fabrication and installation should be carried out by a professional experienced in TIG welding fuel tanks.

The customer and installer are responsible for selecting a suitable filler wire compatible with both the flange material and the tank material.

During welding, take appropriate measures to control heat input and minimise distortion. Excessive heat can warp the flange and affect the pump’s mounting and sealing surfaces.

After welding, check flange flatness, mounting-hole alignment and the sealing surface. Verify that the completed tank and pump installation are leak-tight before use.

Availability

When your selected material is unavailable from stock, the flange is produced to order. Refer to the stock and lead-time notice above the purchase buttons for current availability.
